Epilepsy does not discriminate. It doesn’t have a time zone or a zip
code. It affects people in every corner of the world.
Despite being one of the world's oldest known medical conditions,
epilepsy is still surrounded by fear and misunderstanding. This often
leads to discrimination and a lack of funding for research.
Tragically, people with epilepsy die prematurely at a higher rate, often
due to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). For many, the
misconceptions and discrimination can be more challenging than the
seizures themselves.
